HALAL Test PORK
Rapid immunochromatographic test for qualitative determination of porcine meat the target antigen is heat resistant muscular glycoprotein
TEST PRINCIPLE
Consumption and handling of pork meat is strictly prohibited by some religious confessions. Pork meat may also cause allergy and food intolerance.
Pork Test Kit (Halal) is based on principle of immunochromatographic rapid test (lateral flow) and may be used for qualitative determination of porcine meat antigen in raw and processed minced meat. In immunochromatographic method, the target antigen (porcine heat resistant muscular glycoprotein) bound by highly specific antibodies attached to the test line and colored microparticles. This two-site binding results in formation of immune complex visible as the colored line.
The kit is intended for users concerned about detecting unlabeled pork adulterated into other meats: certification bodies, contract laboratories, food manufacturers, and regulatory agencies.
APPLICABILITY: The test is designed to detect porcine specific antigen in minced fresh or frozen lean meat and processed meat. It is not applicable for cured meat products processed for > 3 months (e.g., jamon, prosciutto).
The matrix study suggests that a 100% probability of detection can be obtained for 0.5% (g/g) pork in beef (please refer to the POD charts listed on www.asianmedic.com for greater detail on all validated products). This corresponds approximately to determination of 50 milligrams of target antigen per kilogram of the solid material without water.
HALAL Test PORK shows negative result in minced meat of following species: cow (beef), sheep, goat, antelope, horse, moose, reindeer and other deer, chicken, turkey, goose, duck, rabbit, kangaroo. The test is also negative in human blood and muscle tissue.
